BWP Enterprises , Victoria Williams
Less than a month after Victoria “Queen V” Williams, the CEO of BWP Enterprises was honored as a SCORE LA success story for her Black Education Expo (BEE) she has been turning her formidable background in project management and special events to helping friends and family in her Altadena/Pasadena community recover from the tragic Eaton Fire.
From connecting those who have lost their homes with resources for housing to picking up and delivering food to ensure everyone has something to eat, Williams has been of service. So it was particularly gratifying for her to be able to thank former Vice President Kamala Harris in person for the support she provided by advocating for funding the SBA. Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were serving at the World Central Kitchen where Williams was picking up food for her nightly delivery on MLK Day.
The fire has also had an impact on the direction of her Black Education Expo which is how she originally connected with SCORE. She had turned to SCORE for the inaugural Black Education Expo and was matched with SCORE mentor Richard “RP” Mader, also a longtime Pasadena resident.

“I really benefited from Dick’s knowledge of the Pasadena community,” said Williams. “With his help I was able to produce an event to inspire black excellence with the latest K-12 education and enrichment resources that would serve as the foundation for a bi-annual event.”
Mader suggested sponsors in addition to contacting banks and credit unions for their involvement. The previous BEE’s were a huge success. As a result, the 2024 Expo was moved to the Pasadena Convention Center, where it had more exhibit space and involvement of the city of Pasadena, and the Pasadena and Altadena communities as well as served as a draw for other parts of LA County.
“Victoria has a real passion for her community and a willingness to pursue every opportunity she could to ensure the Black Education Expo would exceed all expectations,” said Mader. “It is not surprising that she is continuing to serve her community in its time of need.”
The next Black Education Expo, which is scheduled for February 22nd at The Magic Box LA, will focus on “Rebuild, Educate, Empower” supporting SoCal K-12 families whose access to educational resources were impacted by the fire.
